   "Space Chasers" is an action-packed adventure documentary that takes viewers on a thrilling journey into the captivating world of amateur astrophotography. Dr. Steven Swancoat, an Ob/Gyn who always dreamed of becoming a filmmaker, embarks on a global quest to meet and image with some of the world’s most talented astrophotographers.

  Despite delays, setbacks, and challenges, he relentlessly pursues his passion for storytelling and the stars—all while attempting an impossible “Astro Imaging” mission in the heart of Times Square, where the city’s blinding lights push the limits of what seems possible.

About the Director

ob/gyn - artist - filmmaker

Dr. Steven Swancoat is a 39 year old New York based physician, painter, astrophotographer and filmmaker. He made his directorial' debut in 2018 with “The Singer”, a 15 minute short film which he wrote, shot, produced, directed and edited. The film screened in over 20 festivals and won over 20 awards, including six for best first time director. The film has not yet been publicly released. A link is at the end of this press kit. 

Dr. Swancoat is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist currently practicing in New York City. There he has full control over his work schedule giving him freedom to practice medicine and devote the time and creativity to his films and artistic endeavors.

He is an accomplished self taught artist and painter, with over a dozen solo and group exhibitions, including New York, Miami and Hong Kong. His artwork has made it into the private collections of Susan Sarandon and Lady Gaga.

Currently Swancoat is entering post production on his debut feature documentary “Space Chasers”, an adventure travel documentary that explores the lives and stories of some of the world’s greatest astrophotographers.
